Safari Multicultural Playgroups
A safe multicultural place for children to learn through play whilst Mothers learn new skills.
Safari Multicultural Playgroups exist to support migrant and refugee background women in Auckland with children aged 0-5.
We have 6 playgroups across Auckland. Mums come along with their children and stay for the morning. The two paid staff and volunteers are there to facilitate lots of great play: water play, construction, painting, craft, family play, puzzles, climbing, sandpit, playdough and more!
There is a van transport service for Mums and kids to get from home to playgroup. We ask a small koha of $2 for this service. This is the only cost of the playgroup. There is no attendance fee - it is completely FREE!
For Mums there is lots of support.
Free English classes for Mums 1-2 times per week - all levels
Free educational sessions such as parenting courses, health awareness sessions and librarian visits
Trips to playgrounds, zoo, museums and more.
Celebrations of festivals such as Eid, Diwali, Christmas
Graduation parties for leaving children
A chance to make friends with other Mums
If you're interested in coming for a visit, please contact us and we will arrange for first visit. If you are happy at Safari you are welcome to enrol.
