Our Annual Public Meeting is taking place on Thursday 21 November and would love for you to join us to hear about our work over the last year, under the new Belong Aotearoa strategy. Come along and celebrate our journey on creating a sense of belonging for our community.
Following the APM , there will be a panel discussion on “The Media’s Role in Encouraging Inclusion & Togetherness in NZ”.
Although public attitudes are not wholly shaped by media, in the age of globalisation and “hyperconnectivity” where we all have access to media 24/7, they become powerful tools and some of the main determinants of public opinion. We will delve deeper and hear expert perspectives on how we advance inclusion through the media for newcomers (migrants and former refugees) to face the future effectively.
We are excited to announce our excellent line-up of panellists:
Dr Rukhsana Aslam, Journalist, Media Educator, AUT
Michael Morrah Investigations Reporter, Newshub
Aziz Al-Sa’afin, Broadcaster, Journalist, The AM Show
Nidha Khan Editor, Tearaway Magazine
